Everyone Health supported the Sport Relief campaign earlier this year in local communities across Nottinghamshire, to promote the importance of health and being physically active. We worked with 5 schools in different districts to support thousands of students in achieving their Sport Relief challenge between the 17th and 23rd March 2018.
Each school received a launch assembly to introduce the students to Sport Relief, explain where the money that they raise will go and how it will help others in the future. Students were encouraged to make pledges as to why they wanted to take part in the Sport Relief Challenge and what it meant to them to help others.
In Broxtowe, Everyone Health worked with students and staff at Foxwood Academy organising a Sport Relief Lap Challenge event. Foxwood Academy is a local authority school with students attending from across Nottinghamshire due to it being the only special needs school in Broxtowe. In Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Bassetlaw, students were challenged to complete a sponsored mile in fancy dress or as one of their sporting idols.
“Everyone Health’s involvement raised the profile of the event and the academy has raised the most money they have ever done in its history.”
All students at the schools involved showed fantastic commitment and teamwork in achieving their challenges. An awards assembly followed for each school where all students were presented with personalised certificates and prizes donated by local businesses and organisations were awarded.
The amount raised across all districts totalled to £2045!
“What a terrific achievement. The students were passionate and really cared about taking part and doing their best to help others less fortunate. This was clear to see from the final results.”
We would like to thank all the staff and students from Wainwright Primary Academy, Woodland View Primary School, Foxwood Academy, William Gladstone Primary School and Carr Hill Primary School for their amazing efforts in supporting the charity event. An extra thank you to Mansfield Town Football in the Community, Nottingham Rugby Club, Everyone Active, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and Notts County Football Club for their generous donations.
