Southwark Health Walks
Increasing the amount of physical activity is one of the most effective ways to improve both the physical and mental health of all Southwark’s residents.
What are Health Walks?
Everyone Health, in partnership with Southwark Council, provides weekly health walks, designed to get eligible residents of the borough more active, consequently helping improve their fitness and health at the same time.
These walks are led by fully-trained walk leaders and last between 30 minutes and one hour, giving participants the chance not only to get out and get active, but also to meet new people, helping improve their social life at the same time.
As well as being better for Southwark residents’ physical well-being, helping them lose weight and improve their fitness, these health walks are also great for improving the people of Southwark’s mental health. Exercise has been proven to improve mental health, as has interacting with people, two things which these walks provide.
Held weekly, these walks are fantastic for getting people out and about, meeting new people and getting healthier – both in body and in spirit.
