An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Health Trainer Co-Ordinator to join our One Small Step service and Co-ordinate our Health Trainer Program in Devon.

This role requires you to be responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of a community-based Health Trainer service. This is a critical role to ensure the successful implementation, management, development and continuous improvement of this exciting service.

You will lead a small multi-disciplinary team based in locations across Devon to help improve the health and wellbeing of local communities through delivery of dynamic and integrated solutions.

The service offers support to individual facing the greatest inequalities in health using evidenced based behavior change models. The post holder will responsible for a small team of health trainers working in various settings across Devon to support individuals to improve their health in key areas focusing on reducing alcohol, achieving a healthy weight, moving more and stopping smoking.

  • Public Health service and delivering and leading community based prevention services to a high quality.
  • Leadership of diverse professional groups, providing strong and effective direction and management.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Stop Smoking Co-ordinator to join our One Small Step programme in co-ordinating our Stop Smoking service in Devon.

This role requires you to be responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of a community-based Stop Smoking Service.   This is a critical role to ensure the successful implementation, management, development and continuous improvement of this exciting service.

You will lead a small multi-disciplinary team based in locations across Devon to help improve the health and wellbeing of local communities through delivery of dynamic and integrated solutions.

The service offers support through screening, high quality behavioural support and pharmacological advice to specified adults who wish to stop smoking.   Whilst improving the accessibility of the Stop Smoking Service through the pro-active promotion of the smoking cessation programme and referral pathways amongst primary and secondary care services, other key health care providers, community development initiatives. The post holder will also be responsible for the implementation & delivery of Stop smoking training across Devon.

Community Engagement Network Lead – Redbridge & Waltham Forest

Full Time Role (40 hours per week) Competitive Salary.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated community network lead to work within our smoking cessation services. You will be responsible for empowering the community to access our services through making and maintaining strong community links, through helping other agencies understand the role of the service and through pro-active promotion of the smoking cessation programmes and referral pathways. You will combine this role with delivering one to one stop smoking advice as needed.

If you are an excellent communicator who is enthusiastic, motivated and looking to make a difference to local communities, then this is the role for you.

We would like to hear from you, if you:

  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years experience working in a community based service.
  • Are experienced in using behaviour change models within a work context.
  • Are flexible with good time management and planning skills
  • Are interested in motivating and supporting both individuals and groups in community based settings.
  • Can raise public awareness and provision of consistent healthy lifestyle messaging, on issues relevant to the health of the community and in a multi-cultural setting.
  • Have experience in building strong links and relationships with a diverse range of groups, organisations and agencies
  • Are able to talk confidently to diverse groups and individuals, maintaining key messages
  • Have experience of community outreach and engagement
  • Are currently registered with the NCSCT as a stop smoking practitioner (or willing to work towards this qualification)
